mechanical Seal

Mechanical seals are just one way to contain fluid in a container (usually a pump, mixer, etc.) in which the rotating shaft passes through a fixed housing, or occasionally, the housing rotates around the shaft.
When sealing a centrifugal pump, the challenge is to allow the rotating shaft to enter the “wet” area of the pump without allowing large amounts of pressurized fluid to escape. To meet this challenge, a seal is required between the shaft and the pump housing, which can accommodate the pressure of the pumping process and withstand the friction caused by the rotation of the shaft.
